About to install fog lights into my TH. Is there such thing as a protector for these similar to the headlight protectors? Not sure if these exist or if they are necessary. Any advice or thoughts?

You can get (or used to be able to get) the genuine ones.. but..... I wouldnt bother...

Im not a fan of these things for the headlights/fog lights because unless they are squeeky clean, they can greatly reduce the light output from the lights. They are also a pain in the ass to clean, leaves get stuck behind them etc.

Gotta be extremely unlucky for a rock to fly up and smash a fog light IMO (unless you do a LOT of offroad driving)

Au Contraire!!! I bought a TJ Sports with both fog-lights knackered by rocks, completely cracked as well as multiple-multiple stone chips in the glass lens.
Have seen other cars with similar damage.

The Mitsi Clearance place in Adelaide did have sets of Sports fog-covers at $20- per set. HOWEVER, these ones are designed to clip over the full width of the top of the fog lamp lens - they went straight onto my TJ Sports without a second thought - BUT I have to mod the perspex covers considerably to get them to fit my KJ series 1 Verada ei.

Another option, would be the stick-on thick Vinyl stuff called "Light Skins" (or possibly skinz). Fog lamps are priced way out of proportion to their usefullness (if truth be told), but I'd protect them if you fit them. Your mileage may vary......

I missed out on these, do a search now and then on ebay and some might pop up again

Thanks for the feedback guys. At least I know they are available. Will keep an eye out on ebay and might call the Mitsi clearance place also.

Thanks again.

I really wouldn't bother with the plastic covers mate - they just break. I'm using Lite Skinz on both headlights and fogs and used them for years before that on my TP. They are bullet proof, don't break, don't fall off and are invisible. I get mine from High Way Trucking Supplies by mail.
