View Full Version : Pics of Narva Blue Power bulbs fitted
Hey all,
All this talk of retro fitting HIDs etc made me go out and purchase a good set of light bulbs. I went for a full set of the Narva Blue Power bulbs (aka Osram Night Breaker). These are fully ADR approved and only has a slight blue coating on parts of the bulb. They are 80% brighter and 20% bluer. Here are some photos of before and after. Note that the Narva ones are noticeably whiter and has more fill as shown in the closeup shot. The photos were taken in my garage during the day time.
Cheers for that vlad!
Next week is service time, might aswell replace the light bulbs now too :) Was always wondering about these, nice to see some photo's!

yeah i've installed some of these, not as potent as the crystal vision, but definitely more aesthetic than std halogen, longer lifespan, and easier on the wallet
but no match for HID if you do alot of night driving.... but cheaper if you dont need/want the extra light

For mine through the testing i have done,i will always fit and recommend the Philips range of globes, the Philips X-tremes are the best standard wattage/standard draw globe on the market ATM,and like i have said many times,if you want more lumens on the road, and are not real fussed about kelvin temps, steer clear of heavily coated blue globes, they are a backwards step

What'd these set you back?
Ever used the Phillips +50, +80, any idea of the comparison?

afaik these are unsuitable for the 1-piece parabolics.
I have the Narva Blue bulbs and still find the light dispursement from the parras absolutely dreadful

+1 for phillips +80%
Steevo is dead right.
Those blue style globes give you a whiter light but a reduced light output. I have also spent a lot of $$ on trying all types of globes.
Phillips are the best quality, last the logest and the +80% give the best light coverage i have come across.

Nah,they are fine, they are quartz glass and are UV blocked, actually made as a direct replacement for standard globes, will not harm wiring, headlight switch contacts, lenses or the like, only have to worry about cheap non uv blocked globes doing this like Autoteknica etc and or from the sunlight causing the yellowing, run the philips X-tremes with confidence boys and girls

I'm not that impressed with the diamond visions I have in the magna atm, they were heaps better in my cosmo, or that could be because that had a seperate light unit for lows and highs and some beefy relays on them.... :hmm:

And these bulbs were easier to change than the magnas, even with the popup lights!

I've been using Philips Crystal Vision for years now. And bulbs last for several years.
Got a HID kit in the garage, but because parras's annoying bulb covers are too close to the return wires, i cannot use it... yet.
Am considering getting a relay kit for my normal bulbs, for the extra current and better light :)

I have Philips Crystal Vision in my lows because they are a longer light
and Philips Diamond Vision in my highs because they mite not be a longer light
like the Crystal Vision but thet are a briter light.
And are both way better then the standard ones.
