(back on tight is jus as important) ,just wanting to know from people that have done it the only thing i can think of is air ratchet or take the intake off again and get it from the top just want to know what people have done in the past any replies and help much appreciated

why would you need to replace the relay shaft if you dont mind me asking? I was under the impression that ehse parts dont actually need replacing:confused:

anyway, raise the front of the car and support on chassis stands. go under the car from the front and look at the rear of the engine. you should be able to fit a ratchet and extension between the engine sub frame and the engine block to unbolt. if its too tight, I suggest buying yourself a solid bar for removing such bolts and cracking it first then using the ratchet to remove.

assembly is the reverse of removal.

drain the gearbox before removing that intrim shaft

shaft is held on by two 14 mm bolts dont mix them up when replacing the bolts

yesss thats right, forgot to mention that. as soon as u move the relay shaft fluid will drip from the GB.

no, CV joints are only 'held on' by the boots that keep the grease in. if you remove the boot, the joint will come out. now, the end CV joint is quite different. the end one will need a couple of shocks with a block of wood to be able to unclip from the shaft as there's a circlip inside that holds it on.

I repeat, the inside CV joints are NOT PRESSED, simply pushed and sealed with the rubber boot.

Good luck:)

thanks yann that helps heaps. now i know its not vital for the relay to come out, but the thing that confused me was that huge manual everyone downloads told me a heap of useless steps to take like removing the relay and getting it pressed on and all this other bullpiss.

CIRCLIP on the end of cv shaft like the drivers side thats what i needed to know. otherwise i thought where the relay and cv shaft meet in the middle of the bracket where the bearing is was pressed
