i would think you could just do a home solder job, or put a new bit of wire in?

Soldering that back on yourself should be ok, just make sure its a solid solder connection as it goes without saying it moves a lot. If your not confident with a soldering iron get someone who is to do it.

That is caused by over excursion or clipping from the amp. Either way you should address that before you proceed.

Need to know if your woofers are the normal 4 ohm single coils or do you have a DVC version of the sub?

Try and look for WRMS figures as this is a much more accurate way to get the right amp to the right sub. :D

This more than likely is not a problem with your amp. More so your tune, and just abuse.

As for if its repairable - kinda, thats the tinsel lead. You have actually snapped the wire itself, I reckon you can resolder it, and within a week it will break again. Solder is not really great in area's that need to flex.

Problem will be that the solder will go as far as the heat you apply to the tinsel lead takes it. Which means around 1cm on eitherside of the break will become solid.

So that tinsel will have less flex, meaning you push it and it will snap further out, or on the otherside of the cone.

You could always try the speaker hospital, but im pretty sure Dave will say you need a re-cone kit to go along with that.

Always have tried to find the RMS of the subs although never been able to find it. ive gone though the manual, and even looked on the net and they dont mention the RMS at all... pain in the ass..
Will look at the ohm later and let ya know.

Im pretty certain to repair properly its a re-cone, which unless you can get a re-cone kit, is not very likely speaker hospital can do much....

I'd take it there first, before attempting to repair yourself.
