Happy days for me I just did my tax for last year and am about to do my tax for next year so Im gunna be flushed with a couple of grand from the very generous government.
So few things I wanna change and just need some advice and what could do as a replacement.
1: Mechanic said shocks will need replacing, have KYB's at the moment and they're fine but does anyone have some suggestions for better handling without too much more cost over what KYB's are.
2: Cat need replacing, High-flo is the aim but what brands
3: Rear muffler needs replacing, I was thinking of gettin a Magnaflo after reading something on here can anyone give feed back on them or alternatives. Not gettin the LR-345345 whatever lukey I've heard them and they are too quiet.
4:Wanna put Ralliart cams in, where can I get them and how much?
Well thats all for now, was thinking of getting rims and I'd love to have a new set but mechanically the car needs more attention. And Im not sure of HP gains from installing a Flux Capacitor...

Konis would be the step-up from KYBs. Magnaflow mufflers would be my pick for best note. Magnaflow make high-flow cats too, but I imagine there'd be cheaper alternatives.
Definately invest in some MDF to hold that amp down!!

JarRah you have heard my car before, if you like that, i run a highflow metal cat (not sure of brand will look). I have a middle resonator and the rear muffler is an Xforce twin tip MP01 i think. The Varex range from XForce look interesting but i do not know of anyone who has one of these so who knows how good it is in real life.

i've got pacemakers, hi-flow metal cat, and just an ordinary bolt on Redback 'cat' back system (2.5" mandril).. which includes a little resinator (replaces the center muffler) and an offset centre rear muffler.. and it actually isn't as quiet as you would think!.. i'll get my camera out and do a bit of a video or somthing..

Streetfighter manifold and a High Throttle body, may represent better value than Cams.

Reading back over this Im thinking of the following.
Hi-flo cat (still need a brand)
Replace rear muffler with X-Force Single Tip (Thanks Apricot, Yes, your car is loud and sweet)
And the next is still in the air,
Hi-Flo throttle body
New set of KYB's (konis would be nice but my mechanic showed me a box of the front shocks and said "Thats a $1000 just there of shocks, and that isn't including the labour, and even worse is you still need the rears"
or
Spend bit more and have some maintance I need done in the way of replacing rocker gaskets, Lifters, spark plugs, tyres. The car is doin 191,xxx so Im think the timing belt needs to be done as well right??

Yea its definitely gettin done, but the cat im pretty sure also needs doing. In the last few weeks the fuel consumption has gone up a bit and the car has lost a bit of its performance and when cold it has a weezey, slight ticking noise from the cat.
Very irritating so pretty much its gunna be a new rear muffler, new hi-flo cat, rocker gaskets, spark-plugs, lifters replaced and timing belt done.
I had the tranny fluid changed last week and just did a oil change on the weekend so now its just the little components that need servicing.
Any suggestions on anything else I should have replaced/serviced since im doin this all in one go.

If you do the cams just get them to do the timing belt and other stuff done at the same time will save you a few $$ getting them done at the same time.

Yea my mechanic said that but I think Im gunna leave the cams in favour of alot of maintenance work, the lifters alone are costing me $600 ($25 each from mitsu' Im told) and my mech works at $80 an hour so yea just the general maintenance work is gunna cost me a bit.

Generally, yes. But not all the time.
Same deal with High flow cats. Can be illegal depending on the car.

if he is going to all the trouble of lifters, rocker cover gaskets, timing belt etc etc.. all the top end of the engine is apart and would be silly to have him rip it all out again just to fit the cams..
save for another week, buy the cams.. and get him to fit them whilst he has the heads apart..

You can get lifters a lot cheaper than $600 mate.
Around $8ea aftermarket. Less again if you shop on-line. I just paid $155 for 24 new lifters delivered.
Also factor in the cost of new valve cover seals, spark plug tube seals and cam seals if they haven't been changed recently.
