Hey guys, first post here..
After driving my 380 for a few weeks, the engine warning light came on and stayed on
I have checked in the manual, it says there is some problem with the car that needs to be checked out at a dealership.
The car is a 2007 Black VR-X, and i am the second owner of it. Can i get it looked at by a dealer for free? What could the issue be, and can i check for things that would cause the light to come on?

Take it in to the dealer, they can tell you what it is for free, and depending on what the issue is should be able to tell you how much (if anything) you might be up for.
Is it on LPG by any chance? We have had nothing but problems since we had ours put on gas back around Christmas. The engine warning light keeps coming on when running on LPG for a length of time (normally every 6 weeks or so it comes on). We have had it in with Southern Auto-Gas Services (great bunch of blokes - they didnt even install it but have been fixing it for us) probably about 5 times now, each time the warning is that one of the banks is running lean. A retune of the LPG computer, and they send us on our way. They have even kept it overnight once so they can give it a good run to get the best tune for the CPU.
Anyway, there has been another released version of the software for the CPU, and it is in again on Tuesday to get updated.
All I can say is, its a bloody good job we havent been charged for any of this, or I would be going back to Agostino's and demanding they either put a new one in, or take that one off and give us our money back.
Cheers

Maybe you should post up some pictures of your black VRX so we can further assist you with your engine light problem

2007 = Still under factory warranty. Take it to a dealer and they *should* fix it for free under warranty if they're worth a damn. If they won't, tell em to shove it and go to another dealer who will.

Although I detect some sarcism in Peter Pans post, put some pics up anyway because all us 380 owners would love to check out your new ride.
My engine light has only ever come on once. Type 40 & Knotched advised me to turn the car off and leave it for 15 minutes or so & then re-start it which I did and it has never come back on since. The next time I took it for a service Mits didnt actually check the code to find the cause but they said the sensors that make then engine light come on are very sensitive and just a bit of dodgy fuel could have caused it.
Mikey, never had an airbag light come on but again I'm sure Mitsubishi will sought it out for you.

These modern engines are a pain in the ****, I've had a CEL come up twice on my turbo diesel Pajero too. Mitsubishi said 'you were probably coming off a highway drive & then blah blah blah'. Both times it happened coming off a set of traffic lights, so much for their theory! Got up to 40km/hr .... slowly ..... in limp mode. Pulled over turned the car off then restarted all good. Hasn't done it for a while now.
I'm sure everyone knows all about my 380 CEL's from mods etc & my efforts to slowly get around them all.
