what do u mean mate
ecuflash will pull the rom off your ecu.... ive done this successfully
what we dont have is the xml (definition) for any magnas which enables ecuflash to understand our roms... each different model magna has a different rom... thefore even if someone "cracks" your rom its only one done.. with a heap of model magnas to go
i really havent had anytime to do any work on this recently
the rom (hex) file needs to be reverse engineered and once memory locations are found for the features we want to modify (fuel, timing, immob. ,idle, launch control +more) then you write an xml with these memory locations and then ecuflash will give you the ability to edit your rom.....
for $850 i can get your ecu cracked AND a professional dyno flash tune done to your car.. let me no if your interested... this is in sydney only
cable to suit is the traktrix open port 2.0 cable
ECU cracked and flashed here in Adelaide for approx. $500...or you can send your ECU by post and have it done.

Doesn't look like he wants it "cracked" and flashed, looks like he wants to have a play him self zero, good info though....
Wish someone could get the .xml file off him :P

Gremlin are you currently just looking at the rom with a hex editor or something? I am pretty surprised they used a different format for every model

i think i would benifit from a flash as the dual fuel is really F'ING things up
can i have 2 roms 1 tuned for gas and 1 for petrol ?
just to go off on a tangent
is there anything similar for the gearbox
if the invecs II has a learning thing cant we just tell it what to do and lock it in
im in grandpa mode again and i really cbf the whole battery disconnect thingo
and now back on topic

On the TH models onwards if ya have control of the ECU (engine) then you also have control of the TCU (trans)
I know SKR (steve) can change the shift times etc but as i dont have a auto ive never really discussed it with him.

Mainline AWD dyno custom live tune by ex MMAL expert. or a milder tune by post......... a lot cheaper and better.

Now having seen a dyno sheet from a reflash done by this guy in Adelaide, I would recomment that anyone who wants some good, relaible fuel consumption and power improvement just go there and get it done
There may eventually be others who come out and are able to do this however the sheet I saw impressed me and I would say your would be hard pressed to get such a smooth power curve added to the very clean AFR readings also with any aftermarket piggy back or replacement ecu

i was considering having a play myself.... mainly because the only price ive found so far in WA is from RPW $500 - $1500 for custom dynotune or $400 for the cheap and cheerful upload and go
anyone know of another flasher in WA?

There is no one in WA you can flash a magna computer mate. Im pretty sure SKR is the only person who so far has actually edited a factory computer.

SO for your $850 whats that include?
you unlocking our ECU
and then sending us to a live dyno tune to have it flashed??
you done this to your TH yet?? what kinda results did you get from it??
do you need to have a TJ ECU to use? or a specific model ecu since their all differnt?
what tuner did you use if you dont mind me aking.. i am intersted..

Or post your ecu to Steve Knight and he can flash it, not as hard a tune as in person, and send it back to ya

I'd give Steve at SKR a call and see what he can do.
Think along the lines of getting a local dyno run with a printout of your fuel/air ratios and sending that along with your ECU to Steve. He maybe able to get you a closer tune then a generic one.
Obviously nothing will beat a proper live dyno tune though.
