Hey All,
I am having a problem with my car...
so here is what happens....occasionally not all the time...
I press my disarm button on my alarm system...
i get in my car, put the key in, make sure its in park, turn the key, then the starter motor cranks as per usual,
but the engine wont start!
the starter motor sounds fine, but i just dont understand why it sometimes it just wont start....
it has happened 3 times today.
someone says that it could be my alarm system not disarming properly.
i got a cyclops alarm from autobarn and they installed it in Jan 09.
Anyone got any ideas???
i cannot get it to my mechanic until later this week, hopefully i can figure it out before...

If its still under warranty I would take it back to who installed it and get them to fix it. From what your saying it is the alarm.
Do you still have the factory immob on your car, it maybe interfering with your aftermarket alarm.
That'll most likely be the factory immobiliser on your car (disables the fuel pump when it can't read the code in your key head), you can't disable them with an aftermarket alarm, they're part of the ECU. It'll either be the connect to your Electronics Module which is under the drivers kick panel, or the connecting ring thing in the ignition barrel. Try cleaning the loom out first and go from there.
I tend to have this problem from time to time, my fix is just firmly hitting the ignition barrel with an open palm firmly, usually works first or second go. I need to replace the ring in the ignition barrel in mine.

I tried disarming the factory immobiliser, and it started, but when i tried it again, it didnt start???
i think i will have to call the RAA

my car did this, the plug that connects to the ignition barrel comes loose or seems to lose connection. i taped mine heavily and it never happened again.
