when i floor it, im not sure if it goes away or its too loud but i cant hear it.
the noise is small and quiet but its not like a clock tick. but repeats
any help would be gr8
cheers
When you start the car and it makes the sound, have you tried turning the car off, and back on again?

yea but the noise is still there, even there after a drive of 30 min
Do a search on lash adjusters, or tappets

just done a service and it started, im running 10w 40 magnatec
Some oils will make the tappet sound dissapear/reduce.
I've found Penrite HPR5 or HPR10 works well.

Sounds like the hydraulic lifters. You can remove them and clean them in diesel, which doe a good job but is a hassle. you need to use diesel as it doesnt dry the seals out in them.
OR, alternatively, engine oil flush and clean, and a new batch of 10w-40, 15w-40 or 20w-50 if you have high (+200k), but not magnatec....castrol is poo......not the poo.
