View Full Version : 2001 Executive - ABS?
I have a 2001 Exec and noticed today that either the light in my instrument cluster for ABS is either not functioning or my car does not have ABS...
My car is a 2001 Exec, Month of Manufacture is: July.
A mate of mine just purchased an almost identical vehicle, month of manufacture for his is: October 01 and he has ABS (or atleast his light works).
Can others please comment if their 2001 Exec has ABS or not?
Did ABS come standard on all 2001 TJ's or was it just an option on the Exec???
Thanks.

I believe ABS is standard on the TJ executive
Can anyone else please confirm this?
If so the Mitsubishi Dealer who has been servicing my car for sometime now are going to have some explaining to do...

Check out redbook, if pre-August 2001 it seems to say optional

There was a change in series after August 2001, but redbook doesn't say if ABS is standard for those vehicles:

According to the redbook ABS was an option on all Magna Exec's built before August 01.
From then on it would seem ABS became standard equipment(?)...

What does the ABS light look like. is it that orange wierd shaped light next to the SRS light, if it is, mine works. I have no idea  mine is also an oct built 2001 exec
It's located at the top right hand corner of your instrument cluster.
It's an orange light which says "Anti-Lock Brakes" or something like that...
Just have a look under your bonnet and see if you have the required bits!
from memory, its near where the passenger sits under the bonnet, right at the back.. looks like a black box with a bunch of thin metal tubes going in and out of it..
