Ok

I have sacrificed the paint on my GT just for you AMCers
By using the "cheaper" Carwash could I achieve the same results as a more expensive washing program

though I have being able to road test these products due to the lovely mother in law buying them

so lining up we have

Kitten Wash and Wax

Polyglaze Wash and Wax

Armour all Wash and Wax

I have being using these for the Corolla and recently on the GT and these are the observations

Kitten

Nice foam, and has a "anti rust formulation' (who cares) easy rinse but water clings to washed surface

Polyglaze

Foamed well, very sudsy on the car, took less time to wash car as high sudsing made it easy to see missed spots
Rinses well and water sheeted off very quickly

Armour All

Similar to the Kitten but water quicker to shed than the Kitten

Water repellency

Water beading after drying was best on the Polyglaze, then ArmourAll, Kitten was last with big droplets formed

Overall opinion

My overall opinion is that the Poly glaze is the best of the three

it gave me similar results to my normal meguiars routine but half the time

I have not noticed any more or less swirl marks in the paintwork so until I use the glassplexin paint protection kit later in the year I will continue with using these in one of the weeks I wash the car

So in summary even if you dont have the cash to blow on expensive carwash stuff the poly is pretty good as a subsitute til you can if you want
but the others will still do a good job in keeping your car shiny

Agree about Polyglaze. Have been using it for years as it's been better than anything else i've tried.
