for a decent job, you'll be looking at least:
1. 3000-4000
2. 800-1000
3. 300-400
4. 3000-4000
respraying the whole car the same colour or changing it requires the same amount of work

Not true, an open-door respray involves stripping the interior and respraying the engine bay, where a closed-door respray is done with the doors closed.

I paid $400 cash in hand to have the roof, boot, rear quarters and bumper resprayed/cleared, including dent/scratch removal from Col at Autocraft West Gosford. My brother was quoted $800 to respray/clear his 98 Camry.

I couldn't be happier with the workmanship and professionalism. I don't know the guy personally, he was just suggested by a nearby auto paint shop for cash in hand work. Check the link in my signature for recent photos. The work was done last November and no complaints with it to date. Dropped the car in on Monday morning and had it back Wednesday lunch time.
There was a number of dents in the roof as a result of parking at Gosford train station (I suspect a Magna hate crime haha), a small dent in the top left boot lid and scratch in the driver's side bumper near the mudflap from me, and a key scratch in the drivers side rear quarter panel. He repaired those, sprayed and blended, then cleared. The clear actually goes into the rear doors so its seamless so I think he did a good job.

as long as the panels are straight (or as straight as you care to have them) a contact of mine from time to time gets doors closed paint jobs with ANY colour you want, 1100flat rate. Cars are baked over the weekends. The bloke works as a sprayer, and his employer lets him usse the premises whenever, and due to legal but unethical means can acquire any paint colour from the HOK range very very cheap. That 1100 will include engine bay and interior if you were to say give im a shell/stripped car
Ill try and find out when he willbe operating again.

Sounds about right for a candy colour. FIY a large chunk of that cost is in the paint and prep alone.
