Hi all, I've just purchased a used Magna 'VR' muffler which I am hoping is the straight through style muffler fitted to the Magnas. It has a single drop down pipe. Curiously I've noticed it has the same model number (J20-06) printed on the bottom as the standard (twin pipe) muffler fitted on my 03 Magna. Can anyone verify whether I've in fact purchased the correct item? Is this in fact the sports style muffler? To my knowledge the only single tip muffler's MMAL did were fitted to the Sports, VR and VRX models so I'm assuming all is OK.

Thoughts welcome.

Cheers D

Thanks MR, was hoping someone could verify this for me. You can't always believe what some people tell you!

If its any confirmation, my '02 TJ Sports has a single fat droopy outlet pipe at back of muffler.

Yep, all sports mufflers have a fat droopy tip. Mine did, til the previous idiot owner welded on twin-tips that extend past the bumper.

so what is the benefit of this upgraded muffler?Surely you've read enough on here that you know the Sports/VR-X muffler makes the remaining 8kW over the 155kW TJs?

surely i assumed that it was not simply the muffler, and that a tune was involved :P nah i meant more in the way of note, i mainly want an exhaust with a cooler note than what i have now. dzt's already PMed me about it so its all good!

The Sports muffler gave a better note than standard and sounds quite good under load IMO
