Had my auto tranny serviced and flushed yesterday as it was overdue due to it being missed at one of my services.:wtf:

After I picked it up, I noticed immediately that my slightly rough idle had smoothed right out. So my question is does anyone think the transmission service would have had an affect on the idle or did my friendly mitsi service man give it a free adjustment for me?

Hard to say, my car idled better after the transmission was serviced, but then again it was in for normal servicing at the time so he might have adjusted the idle.

The tranny is connected to the engine right? Like almost directly, perhaps if the everything is A-OK with the 'box then there will be no extra stress on the engine/clutch assembly and therefore less stress on the engine? I dunno but, just my thinking.

I had mine serviced last couple of days and it made a heck of a difference to idle quality. Much smoother now.

Some transmission places reset the ECU so they can re-program the transmission which may reset the engine idle speed at the same time.
Have noticed this before when having mine done.

Cheers guys. I guess the fact that the idle is better is the main thing.
