yeah.. if it was half price or something, i'd go for it. but for the sake of a few bukcs, stick whith what you know.. having said that, there probably wont be that much difference in the products..
You used to be able to get "brown bread" from Jaycar that was something like half the price of Dynamat and about 90% as good - is it still around anywhere? Might be worth hunting down if you need a cheaper option.

Brown Bread is no more!
Its now known as B-quiet (do a google search).
No known distributors/retailers of B-quiet in Australia, which is a shame - the product itself from all the data looks to outperform Dynamat Xtreme with ease, and its not as thick....

Honestly mate it comes down to the old saying...'you pay peanuts, you get monkeys'. Spend that extra dosh and get the dynamat...its #1 and copied for a reason. I hate them endlessly too for overcharging..but meh..what can we do! lol

I don't know if this test was done on the current version of Jaycar stuff, but a guy did a heap of tests on a range of deadening. Under higher temperature the Jaycar's glue gives up (ie on a hot summer day your door metal will get very warm!).
I would stick with either Dynamat or Stinger Roadkill. Both have solid reputations (the Stinger stuff is slightly cheaper)

Ers was telling me about the sounds deadening that ends up in the bottom of your door in a big solid lump as soon as the summer heat kicks in lol
If its any help, Brown Bread was VERY popular in the UK. perhaps importing some wouldn't be such a bad idea?

I'd consider it, however there's a few reasons why I wouldnt:
a) Dynamat really has a stranglehold on the sound deadening market, stinger roadkill is still around, but Dynamat rules.
b) to get a good name, you need audio install shops backing you, and selling the product (kinda hard, refer to a))
c) you need a demo car - and I just dont have $30K for an audio install.....
Sad but true :(

If theres one thing ive learnt so far is this man knows he's shite..and hell i agree with him too! lol BUT one thing i have heard is that parently dynamat and stinger are made in the same factory, same thing..just labelled different. No idea how true this is..just heard it on the grapevine..IS that actually plausible? or just selling tricks?
Its quite possible, wouldnt suprise me to be honest.
If you're ever after RCA's, platinum coated, shielded the works - look out for a brand called Iridium. Made in the same factory as Stinger RCA's - and about 1/3rd the cost.
The difference? the colour of the sheath. Otherwise, visually they are identical.
So yeah, its quite possible that Dynamat and Stinger are made by the same factory, its done with every other product by different companies.

Aye will definetly keep the eyes peeled for iridium, yet to see it though. Had to get harcore 0 gauge wire..only thing melbourne has is damn stinger (platinum or gold) which parently makes no difference other then ability to rust, i think.

Sound deadens! Stops annoying rattles, keeps sound inside car and also keeps road noise from entering vehicle.... depending on how much you put on of course...

yay my cables are all iridiums haha
im yet to do sound deadening, dont think its overly important tbh, i'll get some one day, but people seem to think its the end of the world, spend the money on more important stuff :P
i dont have any road noise etc that bothers me, just turn your stereo up louder

I had this real annoying rattle when i was listen to some OLD SKOOL hip hop on the way to work today
Was really pissing me off
I then realised it was my sons toys sitting over the speakers on the parcel shelf
LOL
I dont think any amount of dynamat would fix that one
And if you can hear the road the music is not loud enough

Depends on how you use it :)
I used it on inner and outer skin of the door to make a nice almost sealed box of the door instead of the tin can full of holes. Made a noticeable difference to the midbass. Even more of an effect was noticed when I placed Focal Plain Chant deflection tiles behind the drivers.

Similar to the Dynazorb pads only better and more $$. I have the Dynazorb, works very well. Just need to seal the MDF spacer now for better response.
Have a read of this:
