As above mate - really hard to understand what you're saying.

From what you've described it could be fuel sender, battery, starter motor, bad fuel...

Firstly wrong section (this may get deleted, depends how Madmagna feels :P)

Does your fuel gauge actually read anything at the moment?

At 20lt it should be just above 1/3rd full.

If not - thats your fuel sender.

Now, as for your jump start - in which order did you connect the jumper pack/jumper leads?

Now - while your car may 'turn' over but not start, considering you needed a jump start, I'd say your battery is cactus.

Get a multimeter, test the voltage across your battery terminals. 12.55-12.65 or so is healthy. (if you do a search, there's a massive thread just on battery voltages and the rough condition of your battery, probably 3 months old).

if it ran really dry, your lines will be empty, worse is that you have sucked up crap from the bottom of the tank and blocked the filter or lines.

What i think he is actually saying is

He put + on car A first then on car B.
Then Put - on car A then car B.
The fuel gauge went up so the sender is working fine.

Can you hear the fuel pump prime?

When you turn the car to IGN, you should be able to hear a little wirr sound from the fuel pump (may need someone to be on the ground listening for it).

sorry bout the bad post, yes the fuel gauge works fine,i rang mechanic an he said if fuel light didnt come on then its something else.when it died all that happen was the the engine lost speed,so i pulled of road went to start again but would wind over but not fire.

Sounds like the previous owner put a 3.8 out of a VR in it. In which case the ecu is shot...... :shifty: And the rear diff whine is normal.
