G'Day Guys,

I'm going to update the 6" mid & Tweeter from the front doors and the 6" rear door speakers out of my SV6 Sportwagon. My question is, I have not done any sort of car audio since I sold my beloved TF in 2004 so I'm alittle behind the times when it comes to whats good and whats bad. I'm going to keep the orginal head unit as its intigrated into the dash on VE Commodores, but its a pretty good unit (Blapunt) but the speakers are paper back craptastic and can't even handle even my soft core taste in music. Its a company car so I don't want to spend the earth, but as I've got it for at least another 3 years and do a fair bit of driving, want to be able to crank it half decently and enjoy my tunes.

Any suggestions?

Jaycar response splits, $120 on special, sound great off a stock headunit, good bass and sound quality and don't cost a fortune. They will happily be amped if you chose to do that later on.

I know people sometimes criticize them, but Focal's are very good at playing off stock headunits. The Polyglass series 165VR's I have for instance are currently running off my JVC headunit and they sound sweet, pretty happy with the overall sound considering its just the splits and headunit and that's it.

Of course it also depends on budget, but I'm happy to give you a demo sometime if you want to hear them in car while they're running off the headunit.

I second the Jaycar response.. last thing you want to do is install a set of High $$ Speakers just to see them dissapear with the car in 3 years time....
At least with the Jaycars they will do the job for the mean time...
