Was glancing at the workshop manual and it states under the exhaust section that the Sports and VRX had no heatshields between floor and centre resonator and floor and rear muffler? Was this to increase the sporty sound accustom to these models? Worth doing on base spec models with the freeflowing muffler fitted?

In short, NO, these are important and all the sports models I have seen have them

They do work well to keep the floor cooler, dont want a hot floor

It is odd that the workshop manual states this, as I would have thought the heatshields would be quite important to stop things getting too toasty lol
