some of you may wonder what the strange plug is sitting behind the ashtray with the centre console removed. According to workshop manual, this is connection C-18 - 'Phone Connection' :ninja:

Would have thought a TJ1 and earlier would be too early for bluetooth shenanigans?

There's many a posts on this Dave :P

Phone connection for a phone kit, not bluetooth itself.

My car has this aswell - from memory the plug contains 4 wires. Acc, Power, Mute, Earth. Which is great, as I can tap into this when I need power for my equaliser in the glovebox :woot;

Haha, I bloody told you when we were wiring your rcas+remote wire!

Its an EXCELLENT spot to wire in extra ciggie sockets, which I then hide back near the oddment bin..... I've even wired-in an "On/On" switch so I can have constant power or accessory power to the ciggie sockets (if i wanna lock a phone in teh car to charge it up, etc).

Makes it easy-as to access the sockets (lift out oddment bin is all), and I thread the cords up through the oblong hole where the console lid latches. I use it for "semi-permanent" stuff like Ipod power pack, UHF charger, Phone charger etc.
