Drive shaft seals would be inside the edge of gearbox, where drive shafts are inserted, stopping trans fluid coming out the holes where drive shafts are rotating.
CV Boots would be the flexible rubbery coverings around the CV joints - external. Different things, I would guess.

Be interesting to see what is really needed when you get the car.

Unsure of cost, sorry. CV Boots can be got very cheap at driveline specialists, also clips for these and the packets of grease. They are very messy and bit of a pain to renew, and you REALLY have to get to your CV before too much deterioration has set in from a split boot..... if grease is lost, water and sand have got in thru a crack..... then new CV rather than new boot may be called for. Drive shaft seals - sorry no idea of cost. I'd try driveline places after a price-check of genuine, just to see if aftermarket is available and cheap.

You planning to do the work yourself?

ya im planning to cut the costs down abit and see if i can do em myself, only problem i would have is lack there of tools, i'll be getting the car tomorrow some time and checking it all out when its back here, if its to hard/costly i might just use it as a donor car for my other magna or visa versa. depends on what happens and how things go

CV boots $13 per kit (boot, grease, clips)

Gearbox seals. 3 0r 4 dollars each.

Did this job at the start of this year.

The real cost is your time in reading the manual, scratching your head, and doing the job.

TOOLS: pliers, screwdriver, patience, beer, pizza, torque wrench that goes over 200 Nm, 32 mm socket. Axle stands. Refill liquid for the gearbox.
Did I mention patience?

i'm out at springvale, and just go the car here, and its gonna need alot of work on it... might just part it and use it as a donor car for the 93 magna,

edit: heres some pics of each car, just to help with the decision

magna 94 v6 (needs alot of work) = $420
magna 93 4 cyl = $400

first 6 pics are of the 94 v6 and the last 4 are the 4cyl
