WelL im getting a new windscreen installed tomorrow morning, you may ask why.. its because my car got egged.. and now it has a chip in the window.. so my insurance company is paying for it because i pay 29.33 per year for windscreen cover...

The company they use is instant windscreens.... has anyone used them before? if so... are they any good...?

And is there anything i should do Before they put it in...?

All good mate, they are a national company and are just a normal screen company, used them a few times in SA when we were living there

Just wondering. Do you happen to know what a new windscreen costs to replace?

Do you know if they are TE/F or TH> Mirror mounts lower on the TH onwards

i got mine done for $180..i think about 2 months ago..due to the random chips and sandblasting on it. From nexus..novex? that company. Good job..hasnt fallen out yet! lol

Well i just had the screen installed... and all went well.... it all looks so clear now! hahaha you dont realise how bad your windscreen is until you get a new one..

Only one problem.. they scratched some of my paint... (back to bare metal...) you know that rear lip of the bonnet... im guessing that they did it when they un bolted the wipers..

What should i do guys? should i take it back and have a massive whinge and make em spray my bonnet,, OR when i get these chips from the eggs on my bonnet fixed, should i just get em to touch these chips up to.. as it wont cost any extra...

Just touch it up Whippy, but wouldn't hurt to lodge a complaint. Hate to stereotype, back in my Panel Beating days, these windscreen dudes were mostly stoner scrubbers.

yep....TE/F ones.......mount is 65mm from top of screen..........so these will fit a TH...........??????????

About the paint, get them to repair, they damaged it, they have to have it back to the standard it was when you dropped it off

Maggie, they WILL NOT fit the TH onwards unless you use the TF rear view mirror, the TH has a lower mounted unit and although you can glue the mirror bracket onto the TH screen, it will look odd like mine as there is no black behind the bracket thus it can be seen from outside the car

Hmmm yeah ill take it back on monday morning...

Ill tell them that im getting the egg scrapes painted that arvo, so i can get them to fix that too... and ill make the windscreen place pay for the scratches that Chips Adelaide have to fix...

Failing that.. ill ring Head Office... and Failing that.. ill ring the ACCC
