i was just wondering, with the ciggie lighter, there's a white and black plug, white going to the back and black to the side of the ciggie lighter at the back. Is the white plug the +ve cable, coz I need to use it to wire up some cold cathodes. Also would i need a fuse if u was to use this wire to run 3 tubes?

Secondly, with the boot light, which one is the +ve wire? Coz i want to run cold cathode off that too.

Lastly, switches and grounding points. on the switch there should be +ve, acc and ground. i just feed all the ground(-ve) cables from the inveter back to the ground on teh switch and ground the switche's ground prong don't i?

I'm pretty sure i've heard someone say the white is the +ve in the ciggie lighter but not sure about the boot.

The power drawn by the lighter is unlikely to be intense enough to damage your tubes once connected, and even if it does short, it will not affect the rest of the car functions. Although if you want to play things safe and you have a spare fuse lying around, it wouldn't hurt either to use it.
