So I now have my Bluey (Magna) upgraded with some new bits. So far, larger front slotted rotors (DBA 4000 Series), twin piston calipers, steel braided lines. Makes a HUGE difference in stopping. Anyone with a TJ magna, I highly recommend this upgrade. I changed the whole front brake setup myself. Wasnt hard at all, I allowed the whole day and had heaps of time left over.
Anyway, onto exhaust. Got the full system made up of pacemaker headers, redback high flow steel cat, and redback system. Got rid of the resonator and found it freed up the air flow just that little bit more. As a result, the exhaust has a slight bark at certain revs but I can live with that. The only let down is the very large redback muffler. I'm looking to change that asap. Way too quiet for my liking. Dissapointed by it actually. I'm after the loud rumble the 3.5 V6 makes with a much louder exhaust (yes V6 has a nice rumble to it).
The thing is, I've been looking at Lukey, Magnaflow and many others. Its a mine field out there and I don't want to be left with $$ spent and another quiet muffler.
Has anyone who has done a exhaust/ muffler upgrade recommend any brands which lets loose the awesome sound of the magna V6?
Thanks

ps lots of searchs on youtube for "lukey" etc but varied results.

lukey (search forums for model number)
or the Xforce Varex muffler, which can be a straight through muffler, but has a remote butterfly valve so u can quiten it down when u dont want the throaty sound (highway cruising etc)... 1 press of a button and its loud again. comes in 2.5" for the magnas, with single or twin tips
2 common suggestions on here, 2 different types of muffler essentially

I find the Redback muffler is awesome, I have Pacemakers and Hi flow Cat aswell and at cruising speeds the muffler is silent, only under load does it make a sound and even then its only a low rumbling background noise.
Why people want their mufflers louder is beyond me.

ive fitted a lukey rear muffler and a set of wildcat extractors... very throaty under load, yet a deep background hum when cruising / idling
to hear a lukey:

A load rumble is V8 and boxer territory, not a raspy V6 !,if a redback isnt loud enough for you, neither will the Lukey LR series IMO,I think a cannon is more what your looking for (unfortunately)

mate, i know what ya mean. i just put another muffler on which got me the performance increase i was after, but i do want it a bit deeper and louder. some may hate this but what the hell, stuff em!!! maybe a canon with the silencer you can fit in the end to dull it down a bit.

Lukey ect wont be to your liking either as they are not very loud. Cannon or just get a very small high flow one on.

magnaflow mufflers are decent but pricey.

My wife's car has a canon but that restrictor makes no difference to the loudness.
Maybe shoving some steel wool up and then putting the restrictor in would fix it though :)

I dunno what brand mine is but it is a very small muffler, only takes up about half of the space the lukeys and standard vrx/sports mufflers do. Pretty loud and you always know its there but windows up and its just a dull groan. Still when cruising through the city glass windows the echo off them is awesome
