Was told by Paceway Mitsu that the TE/TF auto box may have some differences. One is a 'One Way' clutch (whatever that is) and if so will have 'OWC' stamped in 1 inch letters on the box. This box can not be retrofitted with the other. Both models TE/TF (and probably others) can have either box apparantly.....

My TF auto box is playing up and have the chance of picking up a TE one at a good price. Checked the boxes and mine has 'OWC' stamped on it but the TE one does not. Can anyone clarify that they are indeed not retrofittable?
