I am interested in putting a VRX cluster into my TL Magna - only problem is the VRX is for a 5 speed box and my TL is a 4 speed. I am guessing I could fit this OK but that the fifth gear marker on the cluster would effectively be unused. Anyone else done this? Thanks.

Ok, so a search of the forums has brought up some answers for me. Still have a couple of qus:

1) If I completely swapped the cluster I would also lose my vehicle's odometer readings, correct?

2) Plan B, If I dismantled the VRX cluster and took off the white 'face' only and swapped over with my existing one, I could possibly retain the 1-4 spd dials on my TL cluster but add the white VRX dials for the speedo, tacho and other gauges. Does this sound possible?

Apologies for the silly questions.

I thought the whole dial face including the gear position display was 1 piece!

I really don't know. It looks as though you could dismantle the whole thing - retaining the white face that covers the speedo, tacho and fuel and temp gauges - without using the 'gear' surrounds, which appear to be separate bits. Was hoping someone may have attempted this previously?!

Someone on ebay is selling the white faces for the Magna cluster - but I personally don't like the look of them. When the lights are on, the whole white face lights up which is not really what I want.
