Been working at Glebe the past 2 weeks and left work early on friday and decided to go and get a quote on a new exhaust that i've been wanting to get for ages, so i headed over to Hi Tech at Lewisham.
I want twins out the back, thats right, 1 each side. The bloke there was pretty helpful and didn't laugh at me cause its a magna. The mufflers he wants to put on will cost $480 each and thats with a 4" tip and he'll charge $200 for the install which i thought wasn't too bad.
My question is am i getting ripped off at $480 for a muffler from Hi Tech? He said it's the best if i'm running 2 and it won't be too loud so i trust him as he knows more about it than i do.

Thanx boys and girls

i wanted twins as well, 2x 5"tip cannon lukeys and that was only$440 each so i just got one.

I have got prices on systems from the cat back and all the prices where around $280 for a 2.5" pipe with exhaust and tip!!!

so im not to sure about that price. although the one you would be getting would be heaps better, but it still sounds a little to much $$$$$ to me.

just my 2 cents

cheers

I reckon he is ripping you. Get a chick to come in sometime this week and ask for a very similar thing if not the same. See what he says. If he charges her even more you know he is definitely full of it.

Ok Hi-Tech is one big rip off i found....

I went to him for a quote on extractors for my TR V6.. For Hurricane Extractors (ie Liverpool Exhaust Brand ie the ones being resold by some other Magna parts supplier we all know) he wanted $1600 supply and fit.. now there worth about $500 to buy so in other words he wanted $1100 for his half a day work. What a joke.... :doubt:

$200 for installation is a bloody ripped off...yeah...the most is about $50 installation or with a mandrel bend for about $150 or so....if you guys are you in try this guy...he has lots of mufflers and he know where to install them at great prices....0402360393 (makoto) this jap guy sells various type of mufflers..fairly cheap prices..cannon type muffler $120..and he got the mufflers from japan.....or you guys can try canningvale market on sunday...there's a folk selling car accessories there... or you guys can try a-spec auto accessories...along murray street....
