Just replaced my 5yo car battery and noticed it has leaked a little into the battery box. A couple of the Battery box retaining bolts have some fluffy corrosion of them. What's the best way to treat this?

I use hot water on corroded terminals, might work for other things.

bicarb soda
Oh and if you use bicarb and water disconnect your negative terminal first

Put the kettle on and make yourself a cuppa tea, with the leftover water, pour this on the bolts. That will kill the corrosion.

Boiling water and laundry powder is good - dissolves the corrosion, if there is heaps maybe a scrub with some sort of old brush to loosen it. Rinse it all away well, out of the tray and off anything underneath.
Dry the bolts off, and give them a hit of new paint - just so there is no bare metal to corrode easily if battery fluids leaks next time. A dab of any old paint (enamel etc, not water based) you happen to have, or a spray can would do. GIve it a few coats if you use a pressure pack - just a bit of basic protection.

EDIT: Duplicate post deleted - let me tell you Satellite Broadband is NOT cool.

Do the above, then smear a bit of Vaseline onto the bolts, battery terminals, etc.
At least, that's what I was told once - stops them corroding again.
I just used a wire brush on my old car?
