Mate,
I've seen the 338 type unit fitted to TL AWD's, TJ 2 tippys & TW Tippys and the cars had different ECU part numbers. Sounds like the ecu is set up / matched to the sensor ????
Is your LPG system the mixer (air valve) type or vapour injection?

Recently had a member with a stuffed dist cap, got a new cap and button (after market but japanese made) and the car ran on gas like crap.

Put on the genuine one again, ran perfectly

I am stuffed if I know why this has happened, the gas fitter seemed to thing that there may be an issue with the new cap which I called bullshit on until I saw for my self that this was causing the issue

As I said, was not some cheap rubbish brand either so there in may lie your problem

As for the MAF, the later TL/W do run different ones, not sure on TJII
