I'd like it for performance turning/tuning to the particular driving circumstances/fuel types/monitoring etc

what kind of options are available for an 02 TJ VR-X?

almost all the piggyback types will suit.

Standalone would be a lot of overkill.

I just brought a Haltech Interceptor for its monitoring and tuning abilities, coupled with its cheapprice (2ndhand) easy of instalation.

+1 for the Haltech

I'll also reccomend the Greddy Emanage - just about the most popular piggyback ecu available.

I'm not saying he did but I'm saying that it'd probably be a good chance.

can also have your cars factory ecu flashed tuned on a dyno to achieve the same, if not better results, than a piggyback

i can help you with this

PM if you'd like more details

What gremlin said it probably the ebst idea going, but probably the best idea, once you have finsihed with mechanical modifications. IF you plan to keep moving on with mods, something that can me tuned on the road for small tweaks to the tune for small changes can make life a lot easier. BUt defitnely dont discount a flash of the stocko ecu as a viable option.

I didnt buy off here, so if you find the thread, it might still be for sale. Mine came from an xr6t, which goes to show, jsut because the site hasnt done an install before doesnt mean its not suited. It can be pretty much adapted to ANY fuel injected car, bar early falcondoores and american stuff. LAter 80's euro and jap design (not made) stuff is nigh on always perfectly fine and nigh on everything up to current date is fine.

The haltech (like the emanage i pressume) can be used with either map or maf sensors, the haltech comes with the loom for it in the box, where as the emanage does not.

when i got my blower put on the ford i got my ecu reflashed using hp by my tuner, not with a sct flash tuner. it cost $1000 but every time i want changes it costs $100 extra just to cover the dyno time. id recomend a reflash as it appears totally stock and keeps any of the standard things you want in a tune.
