View Full Version : Clean Boot Installs... i.e. invisible screws
To all those out there who have done their own boot installs... how did you go about mounting those face boards so that you can't see any screws?

I use loop pile carpet and everything is held into place by backets behind all the panels, but because my carpet it thick, i have a few screw in it and they can't be seen as the carpert pile covers them nicely.

I have my thick backing board for mounting the amp and then I put a capeted 3mm mdf face plate over the top to hide the wiring...takes a lil bit to get it right but is worth it for the result!!! I will put up some pics of mine soon
LHM.... how did you attach the face plate though?

Well mine is nice and tight and stays in there because it is tight around the amp (As you need it to be to hide the wiring) and walls....and the final face plate is very light so it doesnt take much to hold it in place
Ahh... ok then..
I have just spent all weekend.... two days solid from 8am to 7pm both days working my arse off trying to get my boot install done. I got about 2/3 done... I've taken a few pics and after next weekend when its all done (hopefully) I'll post all the pics up for all to see.
I haven't gotten to the face plates yets, but I've bought a few of those ball and socket latch things that are used to keep cupboard doors closed with an adjustable tension, and I'll just use those to click the face plate on nice and tight.
Thanks for everyones ideas both in this thread and others... helped me out a lot with ideas for my own install... as I said... pics to come next weekend. :p
