So my mirror has been pissing me right off since i owned this car and i finally got around to doing something about it.
I know some members that have had this problem have temporarily fixed the rattle by wedging things between the glass and the mirror or what ever.
Being the person i am i hate to fix things dodgily, so like any problem needed to be fixed i first set out to find what was actually causing it.
Heres the mirror removed. Can be difficult to get off i found the easiest way was to get something flat and wide like a chisel, push it in as far as it goes from undneath between the glass and the clip and leaver the clip back against the glass. Then pull the mirror up and it should come off.

In this second pic you can see the problem, the pins that are swaged to hold the mounting plate down have lifted over time leaving movement in the plate.
I basically hammered the pins back down until there was no longer movement and shes all fixed, and damn im happy i don't have to put up with that damn rattle anymore.
