Hi. Just joined the group.
Lots of great info here . Luv it .
I have a `94 verada 3000v6 that has a bit of an idling issue. It wants to stall when foot is off the accelerator. like its idling too slow. I loosened the 2 bolts at the throttle cable and took some slack out of the cable which speeded up the idle a tad and fixed the stalling prob. I,m wondering if I,ve done the right thing though . After reading through a lot of the posts it seems that the fix is a bit more involved than that. I purchased a set of plugs & leads to change out but when I tried to remove a spark plug ( from the front ) it is as tight as buggery . Not wanting to break it off it the head , I,ve left it alone . Is there a trick to loosening them up? I was a bit intimidated at the thought of removing all the top bits of the motor to get at the back plugs but after reading a few posts here will give it my best shot. I might even attack the timing belt while I,m at it. Not sure when it was last done.
My mechanical know-how only goes to the carby & points days so it,s going to be an interesting project.
Any `point in the right direction` here will be much appreciated .
Cheers , Bob.

There is an idle speed controller attached to the throttle body. Adjustment process can be found here: http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showpost.php?p=363426&postcount=10

Yeah the little screw on top of the throttle body, its under a little rubber plug right on the front - can't miss it.

Wind it counter clockwise (out) for higher revs. If it doesn't make a difference you might need to give the throttle body a good cleanout

Also if its still stalling at over 800rpm when warm you may have a problem. It should be set to around 600-800rpm when warm iirc.

Thanks for the replies.
Its only stalling once in a while . Will clean out the throttle body first and see what happens .
Does adjusting the slack out of the throttle cable upset any other adjustments? Speeding up the idle that way seems to help the stalling issue.
The adjustment process in the link from `Life` is a bit beyond me . dont have the special equipment. ( I,m a ``backyard mechanic`` , not a NASA engineer :-) .
How bout the tight plugs , would soaking the area with WD40 or something help?
Cheers Bob.

sorry to semi-highjack, but is this the same process for 3rd gens?

had the same probs as OP with my 92' verada, and i did all new plugs / leads etc, adjusted the idle ~ problem was, my earthing O.O

it was only 11.9amps while idle, so we added a king clamp and a new nice thick cable and earthed it out, and never had a problem after that
