Hi. Just joined the group.
Lots of great info here . Luv it .
I have a `94 verada 3000v6 that has a bit of an idling issue. It wants to stall when foot is off the accelerator. like its idling too slow. I loosened the 2 bolts at the throttle cable and took some slack out of the cable which speeded up the idle a tad and fixed the stalling prob. I,m wondering if I,ve done the right thing though . After reading through a lot of the posts it seems that the fix is a bit more involved than that. I purchased a set of plugs & leads to change out but when I tried to remove a spark plug ( from the front ) it is as tight as buggery . Not wanting to break it off it the head , I,ve left it alone . Is there a trick to loosening them up? I was a bit intimidated at the thought of removing all the top bits of the motor to get at the back plugs but after reading a few posts here will give it my best shot. I might even attack the timing belt while I,m at it. Not sure when it was last done.
My mechanical know-how only goes to the carby & points days so it,s going to be an interesting project.
Any `point in the right direction` here will be much appreciated .
Cheers , Bob.
