hey guys around december i hit a kangaroo and a couple of months ago i had the car fixed on an insurance quote.
But I noticed the first time i got it back there was a gap between the grill and the bonnet.
they fixed it cause it was lop sided.
Now I noticed after seeing another magna face to face..theres a gap about 1.5 cms in between the bonnet and the grill all the way across. The bonnet edges are flush with the right and left front guards.
Also I put in a pair of para's and their bolted in properly and everything and now theres another small gap between the edge of the paras and the bumper.
It's driving me real nuts.

maybe chuck up a photo mate so we can see, i'll grab a front on one of my car so you can compare it, i'd say if it it too far out of wack, give your insurance company a call and ask to have it fixed back to the way it was before the crash
edit: here it is

I'm guessing that lowering the bonnet will stuff up the alignment of bonnet with front corners of the guards, which is OK at the moment.
With the gap, I'm guessing that both light brackets including the grille brackets have been shifted downwards in the crash or the repair. Does it create any more wind noise, do you reckon, with the bigger gap there?
On the plus side, your air intake should be super-unrestricted. On the minus side, it def doesn't look lined-up as good as factory - but at least it is consistent. If you unhappy, could always contact repairer again, or else ask for Insurance Assessor to review the repair.

sorry Senator, im going to go against the grain of the above here, and say that gap is within reasonable tollerance.
which is wrong - because you DO HAVE THE RIGHT to have your vehicle returned to you in pre accident contition.
however, since putting parras on it, they repair agent may say that you have yourself altered the appearance of the vehicle, buy fitting a non standard item to your class of vehicle.
which again - is wrong.
maybe have a look at the bump stops on the bonnet, they may be able to turn down another turn or so and lower the bonnet slightly.
what was replaced and what was repaired?
if the rad support was repaired, it will never sit right again (which again - is wrong, your right is your vehicle in pre accident condition)
try the repairers - see what they say, no harm in trying.
if they are very unhelpful, then ring your assessor / insurance company - but make the first port of call the repairer.
try to get it looked at ASAP as well, as they may cite time / bad driving as cause of movement...
EDIT - upon a third look at your picture, yes it is out a fair bit, but again try your luck at the repairer. they have to warrant thier work done to your vehicle - including any mechanical repairs (for life on mechanical repairs too ;) )

Um... have you tried winding down the rubber bumpers on the top rail that joins both sides of the car near the headlights? They adjust the height of the bonnet as it sits once latched.
And Annese... that grille is porn.

Looks like the lights, bumper and grille need to be adjusted up or in that sence, pushed up.
Alot of factors can play a part aswell like the radiator support not being straight and the front apron not being straight either but the magna front bars have heaps of bolts in them so maybe a little adjustment might be needed but hitting a kangaroo wont do light damage as they are heavy buggers when ya hit them, had 4wds and big cars written off in smash shop's i've worked in previously and they do alot of bad stuff to ya car :(

I had it re-adjusted again as i said. Then they did something and had it aligned like that which is an approvement to the way it was. I was thinking that the front bars bent out of shape if that makes sense like its down. I might just call NRMA tomorrow. Hopefully they'll be able to fix it.

If it was done through insurance, they will send you back to the shop which means you'll be without a car until they fix so hit em up for a loan if thats the case cause you gotta remember that your a customer and any rework shouldnt cost you anything.

as per my above post - go and see the repairer, tell them you are not 100% satisfied with the quality of repairs.
calling your insurance company with concerns will result in the same suggestion to go and see the repair agent.
be nice to them, make clear consise and polite points - if you get angry at them they wont want to help you at all. depending what has to be done, shouldnt take that long to get it adjusted at all - maybe 15mins or so.
if they vehicle has not been repaired correctly (front bar etc) then they will prolly require the car for a couple of days to repair and then paint and fit it back to the car.
EDIT - as its rework, you should NOT have to wait for the next available opening to get the car in. (any rework at work, gets done straight away, gets the vehicle finished quickly and the customer will then leave us alone once repairs are done right)
