Ok, so the Mrs decided to do some DIY painting on the corners of her TF, as she sometimes likes to bump into things in carparks, and created some problems.
1) I masked the rear bumper along the two lines so she could patch without issues, but I masked about 6" clear of a patch over the arch she'd scraped as well, thinking she'd just spray the patch and not the whole thing. She's sprayed u/coat, two coats of paint and topcoat and sealer right up to the tape and after the tape was stripped it left a knife edge line on the edge of the new paint. Would it be better to sand out and try again or just try to buff it out with polish?
2) Front left corner patch went ok right up until the can went empty, resulting in spotting and crap all over the patch. Didn't topcoat for fear of making the lemonpeel permanent, so sand and repaint or polish and topcoat?
Good news is I did the prep on the grille surround (original grey peeling and missing the red inserts), so I stripped it and painted white like mine and it turned out sweet..
