Hey guys!
I've noticed the red LED bulbs you can buy to replace the standard ones, the only thing i wanna know if anyone has them installed on their car is that the standard bulbs that have the the 2 pronges inside for parker and brake light, will the LED bulb replicate the same effect by only a few lighting up when the parkers are on then the rest of them going on when the brake is applied?
Cheers!

Thing is ,if you want to put led in your std tails..white will be better,as the red will be way to dull to shine through the plastic...i tried using white ones in mine ,but they were dimmer than the std globes. It may work on the later tails that are clearer though..i have a TH

i would think that on clear tails,red/amber led HAVE to be the go,as ,duh, white through white....any way..im getting a set of clear tails shortly and are going to run colored led's in it...be interesting to see how it works....

i ment couloured led's not clear ones!!! it will be intresting to see how it works do you know where i could get the led's from, thanks
I have been told and read elsewhere that red LEDs are best for red lenses. White LEDs will look faded in red lense. That is because white LEDs tend to shine in the blue/white range and red LEDs tend to shine a more deeper red. As for the dual filament bulb fitment, all LEDs light up in both instances, just not as bright when only the parkers are on. If you are buying LEDs make sure they are not for offroad use. Those are no where near as bright or have the same light spread. If you have clear lense (whether coloured or white) with chorme parabolic reflectors which utilise the reflector for lighting, then you'll need ones that have side facing LEDs and not just forward facing ones. Light assemblies that use diffused outer lense can fit LEDs that have them all at the front, in this case, the luxeon ones would be better. See here (http://www.ledshoponline.com/automotive_leds1157.htm#13smt)for some examples from the LED shop. Those that use the wedge shaped 7443 ones, the only one that I could find that outshined standard filament bulbs and has the same spread are these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220417680767&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT).

Just mainly concerned about the fact that replacing the standard bulbs with LED ones, will it work in the fact the bulb has the parker and brake light in the one?
In saying this, will a few chips light up then the rest when the brake is applied?
Cheers lads!

yes.........the led just replaces and replicates your o.e bulb, has two prongs on the bottom for the parker/stop light,so any two pin led will do.

because led have such low voltage, there is no reading value as such..any type will do..if you do your indicators, remember to change your flasher can to an electronic one............

Read my first post above. All LEDs light up in park and brake mode. They are just brighter in brake mode. All LEDs for use on cars are suitable for 12V systems. I repeat again, read my posts.
