Hi guys

I've been reading through a few posts on the matter but has anyone had any success in fitting snow chains to Magna 17x7s?

Thanks

Dave.

According to my car manual (TW series) you can not fit snow chains to the 17X7 or to the AWD's 16X7 wheels (for VR-X's any way). Would be a very tight fit if it could be done, and not something I would want to do. (My fingers and hands HATE snow chains) But would be interested if someone has??

The gap between the rear tyre and the suspension arm is very small (less than 10mm) on the AWDs due to it having a thicker suspension arm and I suspect with the FWD with factory 17" wheels, the tyres will be 10mm closer to the suspension arm than those fitted with 15" rim and tyres and 5mm closer than thoe fitted with 16" rim and tyres. Check the rear tyres for clearance with your fingers, changes are, if you can barely fit your fingers between the tyre and the suspension arm, then the snow chains won't fit.

Check the suspension gap on the front wheels!!!!! As this is where snow chains need to go for a FWD Magna. (and in theory AWD magnas as well, as this is where the greatest weight is)

Please please don't put them on the rear you will slide either of the road or worse into some one. (I have seen to happen too many times and it interrupts my ski time)
