Can anyone with a TL Magna tell me if the keyhole lights up?
I know its being discussed before that most magnas have the plastic around the keyhole but not necesarily the light. I was just wondering if I have blown my globe/fuse or if i just never had one at all...
So anyone with a TL can you let me know
(mines a 04 TL VRX if that helps)
cheers in advance

Nothing's worse than a Renault Clio. It's on the steering column, but the angle you have to insert the key on means you always miss.

Maybe you could improvise... put some luminescent stuff neatly around the outside of the ignition?... puzzled me why the later Magna's did not introduce this as a standard feature given it's pretty standard in a lot of makes. Cost cutting.

yeh, or you can put a globe in behind it apparently, i think its pretty basic, pretty sad of mitsu not to put it in, surely cant cost too much...
im guessing only veradas have it?

neon's on a missile switch works ok but in the dark the switch is way under the dash and its just as hard 2 find

Adding a lamp into the ign key shroud under the dash is REALLY easy - even I could do it (and have done, and its GOOD).
A basic search for "how to" info and a quick trip to wreckers for a T5 bulb holder and you too can have a cool Ign Key lamp which comes on with door-controlled lights - in cars with BEM (so not TE/TF, you even get the added bonuses of remote-unlock = ign key lamp lights, as well as the fade-out (now thats HEKTIK man).
From memory, LIFE made a plug-n-play kit for this and had it up for sale a while back. No point whinging about not having it, make it happen!!
Yea, I just tapped the parker circuit (about 10cm above the keyhole ring, the ring has a T5 globe socket in it, just grab the holder/wires from the wreckers and tap the cluster dimmer switch). Very easy to do, havent missed since, at night the first thing you do is turn on your lights anyways.

i dont see why you need one in a TL as the interior light comes on when you unlock the car
surely thats enough light to see where to put the key?
that said it'll still be a good little mod tho :)

TH and TJ should do the same with turning on the interior light and the dash ignition is very easy to find but it'd still be nice. Especially in red.

It is nice, and when I did mine I happened to have an orange bulb-condom, but no red. So, one day I'll have to pull that under-dash panel off for the umpteenth time and swap a newly-bought red bulb-condom in there. The orange looks the goods, but red against the red Sports dials will be extra-sweet!
Have ordered neo-wedge LED bulbs to colour code my climate unit to red, so when they arrive that's when my key will turn RED!! May even put the red condom over the top of the orange one.
In my case, I tapped a T5 bulb-holder from wreckers (hint: Ashtray area has two T5 bulbs, one for cig lighter ring and one for ashtray) and went straight up the to red/red-white wire in the Drivers a-pillar - works a treat!! Fades/on with unlock etc. Can remove the mirror switch and the drivers side-vent to help run the wires, but is easiest with the under steering wheel panel removed (plus a small metal/foam panel directly under the key barrel. Ten screws tops, and access is easy!! Do it guys, n gals!!!
