Can't comment on that specific model, but I'm yet to hear a set of JVC car speakers that I like, most sound a bit bright to me and lack low end. That said never heard a pair of JVC splits. Try and find a place that sells JVC with a soundboard you can demo them on.

you need to hear the cs-wds1 cherry wood splits superb speakers

Don't buy from ebay... you wont get warranties and backup support. Check out your local JB, most them them will have these speakers on their demo boards
