TF should be OK by the same logic as they don't come with side (seat) airbags.
Well the original question was how hard is it to get them in. Answer is fairly easy however expensive.
Basically, you will need new rails to be made up to be able to bolt them down, and they will need to be engineered. Expect about $1500 in fitting and engineering fees on top of the seat prices from what I've heard.

Who is qualified to give an Engineering Certificate??
If you were to make make the rails yourself and fit the seats and make it Legit, Where would you start looking to Get an Eng Cert?

Life... You cant screw with the cars standard safety features. The TL/W came out with side bags as standard so they must be left in place. The car probably didn't pass the side impact ADR test without them so if you fit "race" seats and have an accident there will be no pay out from the insurance company and who ever your passenger is can sue your ass.

I have racing seats, can make a jig out of base plate but would have to do your own holes for your universal sliders.
Would be a no go if you were to drive everyday on the street for a TW as you have the air bags on the side of the seat :( but wouldnt hurt to use every now and then i guess :facejump:
Other magna would be fine though.

I did heaps of research on this topic, but ran out of funds to do it. The result was here -

and a summary
S&L Race Fabrications
Unit 1/24 Tradelink Road
Browns Plains Qld 4118

Roughly $600 for a days work (may be less if it’s easier) and uses existing rails and modifies them. Add $100 for a compliance Mod plate.
Give 'em a call and ask 'em, they were nice and friendly, and seemed pretty knowladgeable, and can do the eng cert for you.

How about on a TJ? I have an Advance and I'm not overly fussed on the front seats. Are there better seats (VRX maybe?) that can bolt in, or can an aftermarket seat bolt onto the standard rails? I know that is the case with Nissans and Datsun's, but never played with Mitsu's.
Cheers, Greg.

Probably TL/TW seats or ralliart seats are the easiest to do, however ralliart seats very VERY rarely appear for sale.

Does anybody have a pic of the standard rails without a seat mounted to it? I'm a boilermaker so the welding side of things is easy enough. Making up custom brackets may be the way to go in my case.
Cheers, Greg.
