its just a spacer/plate. maybe 2mm thick. IM sure they serve a purpose, it might be to give the alloy bellhousing something not cast to mount too (ie the block)

Now just need to work out if I need the cross member that was included in the conversion kit.
I'm thinking not.
You are thinking correctly

Mate,
Not sure if you are doing this yourself or looking for it to be done

I can pretty much tell you exactly what is needed, I can also do this for you.

If interested, pm me and we can hook up and have a chat

there is a difference in sandwedge plates between the 3.0 and 3.5 as we discovered last weekend mal knows the details best to shoot him a pm before you fit the box pop in a new set of seals in the diff saves some bother later not expensive about $30 a pair

So what model car have you actually got

Is it a second or third gen

This will make a huge difference as to what you will need and if you can do it yourself, third gens are really a huge difference to an old telstar, thats for sure

Ok, well you may be a little shocked at the differences between a telstar and a Magna.

For starters the clutch set up is totally different, in so far as the auto to manual you need the flex plate, sandwich plate, starter, box, flywheel, clutch, bolts, LH mount, cables, gear shift, clutch system, shifter, shifter boot, brake pedal etc etc (think I have it all lol)

In the Altera the clutch pedal wire is already taped to the loom so this will pull down and plug in

So Far I've only done simple things.

Fitted a rear sway bar (easy)
Front strut brace (easy)
replaced springs and shocks (hurts arms! but easy)
Spark plugs / leads.. not a job to do in 45 degrees when hung over
rockers cover / spark tube gaskets (PITA)
Brake pads
Brake bleeding
Transmission fluid / filter
Engine oil / filter
Heater core (MPITA)

I'm confident I can do the conversion so long as I take my time..

The clutch pedal wire?

Hi Madmagna.
When you say clutch wire are you referring to the wire for the cruise switch?
Just wondering why mits would put this in since they never made an altera with a manual option.. odd..

Because many of these were also Advances as well and these were auto or manual, Mits made about 4 different dash harnesses for the entire range of one model.

Exec
Altera/solara/advance
Verada EI
Verada XI

The front harness were 3 afaik
Verada XI
Verada EI
Magna

From what I can tell the Sports was the EI front harness

Mits did do some strange things
