yes its early and i havent seached yetbut
whats the best way to pull the switch out? and also cleaning it?
is there any way of testing the switches to see if there faulty or not?
reason being now that ive got a autowatch upgrade alarm kit installed the alarm will go off at random times (i know its the alarm kit install thats the problem as its been installed awhile before this started)
so yeah just tryna narrow down the problem
any help would be great
cheers

You mean the little switch down the bottom of the b-pillar that tells u when the door's open? If it's the same on all 3rd gens it's just held in by a screw which also earths the switch, undo screw, pull out switch, disconnect connector behind said switch, and your done...

test the switch with a multimeter on the resistance (ohm-meter) function. I usually leave mine to the one that emits a "beep" when there is continuity.
Place both prongs on switch, i.e. one where power goes one where earth goes, when you press the switch IN, you will hear no sound (as the circuit is incomplete, like when your door is closed up against it) and when you release the switch it breaks the circuit and you should hear no beep, do that a few times and that will tell you for sure what your switch is doing.
ps do this with the switch out of the car

strange thing i noticed today is when i armed the car, left for acouple of mins and i heard it make the warning chirp
normally only makes that chirp when it gets a shock through it, hmmmm
