How much should I expect to pay for a TE boot. It had a dent up the top when a bought it and have been told that it would be cheaper to get a replacement instead of fixing it. Is this true?

Pretty cheap, I'm sure there's some VIC members that are willing to part with their spare ones for around $50. I've got a couple in my garage that I'd unload if you were in SA.

also check your local wreckers, they may have some but you may end up paying more from them than you might from a fellow member

For around the 150 mark you could upgrade to a TJ boot+tails. I sold my TH boot for $50 for example though.
