Does anyone know the part number & cost of the factory 380 strut brace? Mitsubishi can't seem to find it in their parts catalogue.
I destroyed mine trying to make it fit over the supercharger so want to get another & have another go. TMR can get one made for me but it will cost $550+GST+Freight.

Fooz,
I got mine from the local wreckers here in Adelaide.
But I didn't know a lot about it at the time and ended up paying for the whole assembly including the strut tops, $70, only to find that all you need is the bar itself which mounts to the stock strut tops. So now I have two spare useless strut tops!
IIRC others have quoted $25 or thereabouts from dealers and/or wreckers. Shouldn't be hard to find one at a wreckers for around that price.

Maybe PM 'Shoot' - recall reading that he purchased one from the dealer... only cost $20-30 new from memory.

Hmmm another 24 hours has passed & no calls from Mitsubishi, they said they thought it might have been aftermarket supplied although it was fitted at the factory. I can't believe they can't find a part number for this

Does the brace have the part number on it somewhere?

Close, I found your original post & it was $26.50 or there abouts.
If I can't get one I will consider the TMR megabuck one but it better look like this ......

Sometimes you have to take what you can get.
I personally prefer the black one, the fancy chrome one looks out of place.

Yeah I don't mind the black one but for say $650 delivered I think I can make something like that with the help of my mate with a welder for a lot less!

It was ok until I realised it wouldn't fit again once I installed the supercharger belt guard. So I took to it again & bent it up pretty bad so it ended up in the wheely bin when I was cleaning out the garage.

Ordered & will be at the dealership in the morning for exactly the same price, thanks to SAPLS, Sidewinder AMC Parts Lookup Service
EDIT: I actually hired a 380 Platinum today as my Pajero is getting some repairs done & the 380 doesn't go yet & was eyeing off the strut brace but for $24 I ordered a new one.
I must say a stock 380 feels pretty unresponsive & doey to drive after driving mine. Starting the motor has no crispness, it's like a wet fish handshake & when poked it goes but doesn't have that real push of 163KW at the wheels (not surprisingly). This makes me happy with my mods, absolutely no comparison between the two.
