Yeah, thats right. They are just stuck on with double sided tape.
Why are you taking them off? Getting new badges or leaving it de-badged??

Wicked, now they will be nice and easy to remove! Yeah im leaving the car De-badged. What about removing the boot lock? Just leaving it to be opened via the drivers boot leaver. Has any one done this, i would like to take the lock off as well i think it looks better, plus i supose its more security tight.

Yeah they are glued. I have removed mine and it took my a whole 5 minutes. It's really simple.
1) Get a blowdryer, fishing line, Mr sheen and a scourer or singlet.
2) Apply the blowdryer to the badge for about 2 minutes on high to warm up the glue (move the blowdryer around and dont keep it on the same spot for long)
3) After the glue is warm get your fishing line and jam it underneath the badge starting from the left side of the "M" for magna. Then move the line up and down to cut through the glue and work your way all the way to the "A". Now the glue should still be warm and all broken up. Just pull the badge off now. If you cant put any more of the fishing line through because the glue has cooled, simply use the blowdryer for another minute or so and then try again. After the badge is off there will be a little glue there. Scrubbing will take an eternity. Spray on some "Mr Sheen" and then just rub over it with a scourer or a singlet or equivalent. Spray a little more Mr Sheen and rub some more. The glue will be gone within a minute and your car will look Debadged and clean.

Don't take the lock off. I reckon it would look lame as I have seen a boot lid without a lock and it looked stupid imo. I will show you a pic of my rear end debadged soon or just check the post your ride part. I have since put a TS boot garnish on which looks 100% better

You could do it right now in about 5-10 minutes I reckon provided your car is in the garage and you have a power point / extension cord for the blowdryer.

Okay if you need any more advice let me know. I'm thinking of getting a brand new "Magna" badge off the new magnas that is nice and sparkly and chrome :) I have since cleaned up my old magna badge and put it on my Dash along the black strip and slightly offset to the left. Makes the dash look a little more balanced I think. Just used double sided tape for that so I can remove it any time I want with ease.

Hey cheers buddy, hmmm got me thinking to put my badge there as well that would look quite shmick, the only other idea i was think about was tinting my rear lights, but im not sure if this would look good or work as well as it does on the later models?

Nah I wouldn't. This is what I did. If you don't have a TS boot garnish you should get one instead of the TR one, or maybe you would rather a verada boot garnish. The TS boot garnish looks awesome on a white magna in particular because the "MITSUBISHI" is in chrome and looks great. So that's what I did. You can buy the plastic part from a wrecker for pretty cheap. The TS just has a little extension of the current lights which looks good also but its all just plastic. What I'm getting though soon is the Verada taillights to go with my TS boot garnish. Reason being is the verada taillights are red and the bottom part looks either clear or like a really light grey which would make the rear end look a lot better than the orange we currently have. Then I will probably get a nice new magna badge as I said. All of which are inexpensive.

I was thinking about removing the boot lock and putting a mistu badge there. Thought it would be too hard though.
I did a quick photochop. I've never seen anything like it.

I don't know if it'll look good though.
Thoughts?
BTW Thats an older pic of my car. Here is a newer one with my new Verada badge on it. It's off the new Verada.

Yeah i wanna get the Ts boot garnish or verada one what ever is cheaper! Does the Ts/Verada garnish slot right in and line up with all the bolts on the TR boot frame? You gotta love the little inexpensive mods!

Sure does it takes about 5 minutes or even less to install to take off teh current one and install the TS one. If your car is white I would definitely go with the TS one cos it looks great on a white car. Since your car isnt white I would be stuck between the verada and the TS one. If its a light colour like silver etc I would go TS, Darker and maybe the verada one would look better but its up to you. They are both the same price pretty much. Ignore the red part, the part which is in blue as illustrated is the part you will need to purchase. Simply keep your entire boot lid, and just take off this section which is shown inside the blue lines. They are little screws to undo above the licence plate and its really quite simple a 5 minute job. Then just put on your TS one.

Good job mate. Looks good. You must have been there for a while scrubbing. Mr Sheen is one of my good friends :D This is mine before I put on a TS boot garnish.

Removing the lock but with a cable release is quite pointless; they will just smash the window and pull the lever. It's only really effective if you have electric release, and disconnect the dash switch then use only your remote to open the boot. You run the risk of if there is a solenoid failure you won't ever get your boot open though.
