Hi all

Quick question, I was under the impression that the rear muffler on the sports/vrx was straight through. Is this true?

The reason I ask is that I had to have some dealings with x-force a couple of months back and ended up having extractors installed at their r&d / storage factory. One of the guys their said that it could not be straight through as it was too quite, I've been considering the varex but if the stock muffler is straigt through I won't bother.

Thanks to anyone who reads this or posts, and yes I did search!

It's supposed to be a straight-through muffler. Plus no-one's really noticed any performance upgrade from changing the stock rear muffler to an aftermarket straight-through muffler.

ive had 4 3rd gens that should have had the same rear muffler on them...

2 x ralliart magnas
1 x series 1 vrx
1 x series 2 sports

both ralliarts had straight through mufflers on them

the vrx also had a straight through muffler on it

the sports had a tri-flow muffler on it (the pipe does as "S" inside the muffler before exiting..)

i dunno what the go is.. other ppl with same model cars have found different combinations..

strange..

either way, you wont see a power gain changing your rear muffler on any of the "sports" range of magna's in the TJ and above series

easiest way to tell what youve got... stick a broom handle into your muffler. if it goes straight in, its a tri-flow.. if it goes on an angle off to the left its straight through (magnas have an offset inlet, centre outlet, therefore for it to be straight through peice of pipe in the muffler the broom handle should go on angle when you shove it in)....
