battery was changed bout 4 months ago for really good one. had a service done around the same time

To test if it your key, as soon as you turn the car on and it doesnt start, pull the key out and put it back in and try again. You may need to do this a few times to get the car started.
I have been having intemittent problems with what sounds the same as yours. I took it to an auto electrician and he seems to think a new key will fix it, but it just seems like a process of elimination to find the source of the problem. You will find it wont be your battery. Mine will play up for about a week or so where it may start first time or it may take 10 times of putting the key in and trying to start it, pulling it out and trying again. Then it may be all good for 2-3 months.
Auto Electrician said it could be a case of running a test to see if there is a build up of codes in the immobilizer system, and clearing the old codes.

Yep, sounds like the poor contact in loom connectors between the antenna (around the ign key barrel) and the ECU.
Some have fiddled with the contacts in the plugs, some have removed the plugs and soldered the wires to avoid any possibility of future problem. If your ign barrel has a white/clear plastic ring around it, where you can se some fine copper wire wound around - that's the antenna. Follow the wire coming from that until you find the first plug/socket wiring loom connector..... I believe that is the problem area.
Search will fnd many threads, some with good pics and better explanations than mine.
