View Full Version : Rice or not??

I was wondering if replacing my badges with the Galant and Ralliart badges would be considered "ricey"

I was actually only going to replace the rear 380 and GT badge with a Ralliart badge and add a Ralliart grill badge to the front

Mehhh, Unless your magna/380 is actually a ralliart I think adding the badges would be very ricey.. Sorry..

the 380 is a galant in the states

and the VRX/GT models here are Ralliart/GTS in the US as they have a 3.8 instead of the 2.4 4 pot

So that would be a not ricey from rory ??

Life you crack me up

LOL

but if it was red it would be cool!!!

I dont think my idea is rice and each to his own just wanted to get a general idea more from the 380 crew as we dont have much choice in MODs from MMC

I reckon you have one of the best 380 badges available, the 'GT' badge, anything else would be a downgrade, unless you supercharge it, then go 'Ralliart'.
I've been thinkin about a 'Sports' badge, considering the Mods* I've made, but I have a 'DB', not even in the 'ES' catergory.

* (strut brace, sports supension, 17" factory alloys and a straight through muffler)

So definately Rice, not Nice.

why don't you just sell you 380 and go buy the ralliart 380 sitting at the mitsubishi dealer in townsville.

I mean c'mon they only want 100k for it.....

I don't think it would be ricey... just out of place. The 380 is not entirely a Galant (not like other cars sold unaltered in various countries under various model names), there are many interior and exterior changes. I personally think the 380 is a much better looking car than the Galant, so to put a Galant badge on a 380 would be a step down - moreso as you have the top model GT.
I guess the Ralliart badge isn't too bad though, if you feel you have modded it enough (Mytsgt95 put them on his modified 380). I also thought of putting the Sport badge on my car, but its the base model which is clear to see (non spoiler bumpers front and back, standard grille, etc) so it would probably look silly.

not joking, it's sitting in their main showroom as you walk in. very nice looking with the supercharger, chromies and big brakes but def not 100k worth though.

I think the GT is understated/underbadged so I put a 380GT on bottom grille like the VRX looks good I think and a couple of GT badges above rubbing strip on rear doors and why not. Theyll probably get pinched next time I do the wifes shopping:hmm:

Well while we are talking about badging, I was thinking of getting the Commo "Supercharged" badge & puting it under the VRX on the drivers side rear. (Maybe on the sides but I think that may look stupid) It's chrome & about 150mm long & 12mm high.

What do we think about that ladies & gentlemen?

Don't do it... You have the HUGE advantage of being under the radar at the moment, a sleeper, if you will. No need to display that it's supercharged - let people hear it's supercharged.

This is coming from the guy who has the number plates NVY DIS!

Pics or it did not happen

Well I might remove the badges due to being series I and MMAL bunching them up on 1 side of the rear

I am still quite partial to the Ralliart badge but I am not looking to go down the road of Engine mods as I have not the time, budget, or skill to do it at the moment

I wont put the Galant badge on as pointed out we have a better looking car but the 380 badge has got to go IMO

Just revisited this & had a look, I think this is the one to get Mohit. Under the "380" badge on the left I have a smaller "SERIES 2" badge & on the right under the "VRX" it is begging for a matching size & font "SUPERCHARGED" badge which this looks very close to. Might just have to black the letters to match the "SERIES 2" one.

In the GT? I wouldn't call it RICE, but its not NICE either. The mahogany/marble is a much classier look I reckon (plus the carbon fibre process will cost a small fortune). If you really still don't like your mahoghany bits, you can offload them all to me. Think of my base model grey inserts as a blank canvas.

Mecha-wombat

Going to scour the webs and try and find a cheap replacement set and use them as a base as I will keep the maghoghany so if I sell it it is stock

I thought it looked a bit out of place & thought it may look a lot better if I pull off the series 2 badge & put it there under the 380 badge, what do you guys think?

The badge is quite small & about the same size as the Series 2 badge. (Chrome with black print, similar font) 105mm x 10mm.

Arrgh! all dissappointed now. i thought youd found some decent doorhandles for the interior, have to go back to my original plan of making some!
on your question, on a non GT yes id do it, but the GT already has the chrome stripe halfway up the door, and i suspect that the stripe might not line up with the handles, plus (to me anyway) might be too much chrome.

Yep go the CF. Much classier than the red. Also if you dont get the red just right it will look off. Grey always, always looks good with red (Molten red).

Got my CF after the first package was an empty tube LOL
I decided black as the grey was not CF but fibreglass weave
this stuff feels so much like snake skin and looks amazing
getting glue tomorrow (fingers crossed everywhere has being out)

ripped out one of the bezels for a fit for tomorrow

but the CF is a real pain to keep straight as it is loosely weaved

This is going to look SO GOOD did a test drape and it is sexy

I will have the ricest 380 ever!!!!!!!!

The Cf is just like any other fabric except it is a very VERY loose weave and you can pull it and mess it up real easy and it frays so easy

I am just about to cover a glasses case with some hard curves but you are able to tuc the edges under a cover

I will get some pics up of my first effort with the iPhone case and the glasses caes as soon as I can
