Hey all,
Just installed a VRX leather steering wheel onto our TJ. I love it but my wife complains that it's too slippery.
Is there something I can clean it with to make it 1) cleaner, and 2) grippy.
Cheers, Greg.

Does it look shiny and like vinyl? Nearly all cars with leather wheels get dirty with time and they go quite plasticy and shiny looking, really horrible, doesn't fell like leather. Putting dashboard protectant etc on it will also make it worse. Just find the most heavy duty LEATHER cleaner that you can, let it sit for a while and really rub it in, and probably brush it with a horsehair brush or a microfibre cloth. After you can put a bit of leather treatment on it, and hopefully it should feel like leather, which shouldn't be too slippery. The steering wheel will probably be quite hard to clean with a leather cleaner, but anything too heavy duty will probably be too harsh on the leather.

AutoGlym seems pretty good for off the shelf stuff, that's what I use on my car seats and bed head\sides, it's a part cleaner\cleanser and conditioner.

Yeah, any of those places should have it, ringart (detailer member on here) recommends a product called "zaino" but just for a wheel, I'd go the autoglym stuff, be cheaper.

I use and would recommend Poorboy's Leather Stuff (http://www.waxit.com.au/proddetail.asp?prod=PB0020&cat=19). A pretty good all-round product. I'm not sure how well it clean dirty leather, as my steering wheels have always been in good nick, but it does a great job at mild cleaning/protection.
