Well doesnt karma come back to bite you! 1 day after deciding to change up my rims and look of the car, i crash it into a tree. pretty much a write-off, fixable but gonna cost about as much a purchased the car for!

I knew pretty much as soon as i did it, that it wasnt going to be worth fixing. And today I called the panel beaters and they agreed....

Atm i want to buy a magna wagon! because i was gonna buy a work car (old ef falcon wagon or something) and have my magna for the weekends.... but now since i dont have the magna, was thinking of combining both and having something that i can use for work, plus something that still looks good for the weekends lol


Question time....
What do you guys think i should do with my wrecked TF?

Should i:
a. take important things off the car, such as cd player and speakers, wheels (3 of them anyway lol) etc and sell the car as a whole as a repairable write-off in the trading post or ebay.

or

b. take the car home, and stip it and sell as much of the parts to fellow AMC members?
(Engine should still be fine, well im not sure if there is damage too it atm, but it does turn on! 150,000km, in good nik!)

Which way in your opinions am i going to be able to get back more money to put towards a much needed new car?

sorry to hear of your loss, reminds me of one of my incidents....only had 2 but mines wasn't a write off, depending on whats damaged, Mohit's mate could be keen to take a few of the parts for their new daily drive car they are restoring.

Because on friday nite, i put an E.O.I bout selling my rims. and the next day i broke my front rim in 3 parts and wrote the car off!

Nope dont have comp insurance, insurance dont know about the incident, only had 3rd party so no point them getting involved! Will let you know mate.

Is there any point in fixing it with second hand parts?

So what exactly got damaged?? I think you could prob get it repaired with 2nd hand parts for <1k, if its just body damage..

2nd hand guard, 2nd hand bonnet, new bumper is fairly cheap, there's a complete one here at UPullit, paint....Providing the inner skirt is not fornicated should be a cheapish repair.

inner guards is toasted, the chassis on the engine bay is bent and i reckon the anxel might not be in good shape. will get a list in the next few days though of wat needs to be fixed hopefully!

Ouch man, really sorry to see that. Its bad I reckon when its just on that point where you could consider it a write off or fix it. Hard choice if the car means a lot to you. At least your ok, that's whats most important, tree's usually do some damage when you hit them, lucky it didn't cause any harm to you.
