View Full Version : SVI LPG Installers Recommendations.
Looking at upgrading my Mixer system to SVI. Since my mechanic (who fitted the mixer system) doesn't do SVI, I'll need to look elsewhere to get quotes for the system upgrade.
EzyGas is really the only place that comes to mind, going to get a quote tomorrow, was hoping some of you guys might know of some places in Melbourne (one off workshops for instance) that do some quality work that would be worth having a chat to about it.
Cheers.

Cheers man much appreciated.

I've got an Ezy gas SVI system & flash lube system on the AWD and it does a smooth changeover from petrol to gas-no hiccups etc. Other vehicles that I have driven with SVI systems gave a slight hiccup on the changeover.

I used Ezygas and have a Eurogas SVI system and it works great.
Runs perfectly and had no issues with it.
Ezy gas did a great job with the installation. Very very neat. Looks like a factory fit.
Ezy gas have a few different systems/brands of system that can be installed. The main two are Sprintgas and Eurogas.
A lot of the componentry is the same. Mainly just the injectors ad the converter that are different.
Also, each brand has its own mounting kit for the ecu/converter/injectors so depending on what brand you get will determine where these items are placed in the engine bay.
Both of the above two are great brands. I asked for their opinion on the best system and they recomended Eurogas.
Also have a flash lube system installed. If you ask nicely enough, they should throw it in for nothing.
Hi Lugo, what did you end up doing with the lpg and are you happy with it? Getting my 380 done soon.

Would be good to get a LPG section inc dyno stats.
I know that SprintGas has recently taken over EZYGas so all they istall now is Sprintgas systems which are a great system.
If you want EuroGas then you may need to try somepne like A.P.S. gas systems.

I have a EuroGas system and am wrapped with it. Only lost 1KW between petrol and LPG with this system which is very minimal.
FW would you say your system is more fuel efficient than a mixer type?

Hey there Feff.
The SVI system is a far superior system in every regard.
You can't even compare a mixer system and an SVI system. One has technology from the '70's being the mixer and SVI is todays technology.
Easiest way to describe the difference between the two is:
just picture a mixer system as an old carby type setup. Gas just being sucked through the intake way back at the air box.
An svi system is like a Fuel injection system. Gas is delivered to each indevisual cylinder right down at the head through individual injectors.
SVI is maintenance/trouble free. You can't even tell your car is on Gas. You can't even feel the switch between the two it is that seamless.
If you have the extra 2 grand to put a SVI system in then do it mate. Don't even consider the other if you can afford the better.
Yes definately doing that. Still trying to decide b/w normal tank and donut tank for more space.
Thanks FW

the diference is howmuch it holds if you get a donut tank yeah save a little space but you got to fill the tank more often i get about 350 to 400km from a normal 65 litre tank dont know what the size of the donut is and remember when it fulls it up it only fills up to 80%

Yes i think that the donut tank only holds 50 litres usable. I have heard that a cylinder tank braced over the rear axle gives the car a better ride too..

The Donut tank will take between 55 and 60 l if you empty her right out. All depends on what angle the car is on when filling as they have a float level system in them.
I usually get arouind 350k's round town normal driving and 500+ on the hwy.
Your personal choice really, and will cost you about 800 bucks for the donut option.
Well worth it in my opinion.
No loss of boot space at all, just loose the spare wheel, thats all but when did you last use it really? Also tey should give you a can of tyre weld and a compressor. Ifnot, you can buy them cheap anyway.
I have kings lows in my AWD but put SP's in the rear to componsate for the gas tank weight and it now sits perfectly looking like it has lows.

Feff. You have a 380 yes? You have no choice between mixer and SVI. You have to run SVI due to you cars different emission standards. So it will be about $4500 approx.

Yes, the usual $1750 if you meet their criteria of not having applied for grant in past 3 years etc.
Any leads for Sydney installers on a TJ?
